After meeting
the Buddhist teachings, Venerable
Thubten Chodron was ordained over 25 years ago. Since then she has
studied and taught in spiritual programs and monasteries around the
world. As Buddhism comes to the West, she has taken an active role in
inter-religious dialogue, as well as participating in several Mind-Life
conferences relating similarities and differences among science and
Buddhist principles. Ven. Chodron helped to organize the first conference
for women monastics, and has participated in several western Buddhist
teacher conferences. She is the author of several well known books including
"Open Heart, Clear Mind," "Working with Anger," and "Buddhism for Beginners.".
